Why legal translation needs a specialist
A legal text is only useful if it means exactly the same thing in both languages. Arabic and English legal drafting follow different conventions: obligations, conditions and defined terms are expressed differently, and a phrase that reads naturally in one language can change the scope of a clause in the other.
Our legal work is led by translators with formal training in legal translation, including the Career Certificate in Legal Translation from the American University in Cairo, which covers contracts, court documents, legislation and notarization. We keep defined terms consistent through the whole document using translation memory and term lists, so "the Supplier" or "Force Majeure" never changes halfway through a contract.
How we work
- Translation by a legal translator who works in the relevant area of law.
- Editing against the source by a second linguist, clause by clause.
- Quality assurance of numbers, dates, names, cross-references and defined terms.

Confidentiality
Legal documents often contain sensitive commercial and personal information. We sign an NDA on request before you send any files, limit access to the linguists assigned to your project, and delete your files on request once the work is delivered.
